Regular monthly meeting of the Northfield Town Board. Held the second Monday of every month at 7:00 p.m., unless otherwise posted.

    • Review and approve minutes from the July 13, 2026 monthly meeting.
  5. Financial Report
    • Presentation and approval of town financial statements and bills and any related financial matters.
  6. Roads and Brush
    • LSSIP 2026-2027 award for structure V270199, including acceptance, Town cost share, and next steps.
    • Update on the county 50/50 culvert reimbursement application.
    • Paving and restoration of storm-damage culvert sites, including quotes or bids and any deadlines.
    • Designation of the Town official responsible for soliciting bids and quotes.
    • Gravel, chip sealing, patch material, and road condition priorities.
    • Town Patrolman report and road work priorities, including equipment readiness.
    • Fire number signs, sign posts, and road sign replacement continued.
    • Maintenance of the Burton Road section in the Town of Garden Valley continued.
    • Local labor requirements, resident-submitted bills, and a standard labor rate continued.
    • Coulee Crest Lane road status, records, and WISLR information continued.
  7. Facilities / Operations
    • Town Hall, equipment, facilities, operations, and lock and key changes as needed.
    • Sanitary District No. 1 matters, including Well No. 2, the PSC rate study, and water compliance.
    • Town truck sale or replacement and long-term equipment replacement planning continued.
    • Purchase of lock boxes and other security hardware, including surveillance cameras, continued.
    • Establishment of a Town purchasing account or debit card continued.
  8. General Town Board Business
    • Presentation by Dr. Severson, Superintendent of the Black River Falls School District.
    • Town of Northfield website (northfield-wi.netlify.app, pending townofnorthfield.wi.gov): approval and adoption as an official Town website, hosting, domain, and associated costs, responsibility for content, use for posting notices, agendas, and minutes in addition to the three physical posting locations, and any related action.
    • Welcome to Northfield sign, including ownership, repair or replacement, and possible Northfield Booster Club assistance.
    • Adoption of the Wisconsin Towns Association 2026 Transportation Resolution supporting a comprehensive and sustainable state transportation funding solution, and direction to the Clerk to transmit copies.
    • Setback/variance for the Bergerson residence on Water Tower Rd., including the written statement, continued.
    • Town levy, levy limits, and a possible meeting of the electors continued.
    • Approval and adoption of the Town of Northfield Emergency Operations Plan, as reviewed by County Emergency Management, and annual maintenance calendar for the Town Patrolman.
  9. Public comment on agenda items.
  10. Future Agenda
    • Any future Town Board business, including community concerns, administrative or financial matters, road and maintenance needs, contracts, or training.

Regular meeting schedule

The Town Board meets the second Monday of every month at 7:00 p.m. at the Northfield Town Hall, unless otherwise posted. Special meetings are noticed separately.

Speaking at a meeting

Most agendas include a public comment period. During public comment you may speak on town matters, but the Board generally cannot take action on something that was not on the noticed agenda. If you want the Board to act on something, ask the Clerk to put it on a future agenda.

To request an agenda item, contact the Clerk before the notice is posted. Notices go up several days ahead of the meeting, so the earlier you call the better.

How meetings are noticed

Wisconsin's open meetings law requires public notice of every meeting, normally at least 24 hours in advance. The Town gives notice by posting the notice in public places in the town and by placing it on this website.
